Frequently Asked Questions (Cash Denomination & Banking)
What is a cash denomination calculator?
A cash denomination calculator is an online financial tool that computes the total monetary value and piece count of physical banknotes and coins. Simply type the number of notes you have for each denomination (₹500, ₹200, ₹100, etc.), and the calculator will automatically multiply each count, sum up the grand total, and express the full amount in English words (Lakhs and Crores) and Hindi.
Is PAN card required for cash deposits of ₹50,000 or above in banks?
Yes. Under Rule 114B of the Income Tax Act, quoting your 10-digit Permanent Account Number (PAN) is mandatory whenever you deposit cash of ₹50,000 or more in a single day at any bank branch (SBI, HDFC, ICICI, PNB, etc.) or post office. This tool automatically displays an alert whenever your calculated total meets or exceeds ₹50,000.
Are ₹2000 denomination notes still accepted in banks?
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the withdrawal of ₹2000 denomination banknotes from circulation in May 2023. While no longer widely accepted in everyday retail stores, individuals can still exchange or deposit ₹2000 notes at 19 RBI Issue Offices across India. This calculator includes an optional checkbox to enable ₹2000 note tallying for accounting reconciliation.
How can I share or copy the calculated cash breakdown to WhatsApp?
Click the Copy WhatsApp button on the summary card. The tool generates a clean, neatly formatted text summary listing every active denomination, piece count, subtotals, grand total, and amount in words. You can paste this directly into WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or your daily accounts log.
Does this tool store or upload my financial numbers?
No. The tool runs 100% locally in your web browser using JavaScript. None of your denomination counts, account details, or calculated amounts are transmitted or saved to any server. Your calculations remain completely private.
